Overview

Donegal, the summer of 1936.

Sisters Kate, Maggie, Agnes, Rose and Chris live as best they can outside the village of Ballybeg. Chris has a son, Michael, who lives with the sisters as does their elder brother, Jack, a priest recently returned from 25 years' service as a missionary. But Jack has been deeply affected by the culture he's both experienced and, seemingly, embraced in Uganda and when Gerry, Michael's father, returns, the winds of change begin to stir the sisters' lives...
